Wonder preludes wisdom

Wonder is underrated.

Wonder is what makes us ask questions. It’s what makes us explore. It’s what makes us better people.

When we’re toddlers, everything is new and wonderful. We see the world with fresh eyes and curiosity. We ask why and how and what for?

As we age, the world becomes more familiar. We stop asking questions, or we ask them less often. We become bogged down in details and lose sight of the big picture.

When we lose our sense of wonder, we lose our ability to grow. We become cynical and jaded, and the world becomes a much poorer place.

Wonder is a reminder to keep our eyes open, to see the world with fresh eyes, to ask questions and explore. It’s a reminder that there is a lot to learn, and that learning is a lifelong process.

Wonder is the beginning of wisdom.

Let’s not forget to wonder, no matter the age. May we always be amazed by the world around us.

It begins with wonder.
